To Students and Alumni who wish to apply for a scholarship:
The following scholarships will be awarded to EFHS seniors and alumni in June 2010. Click on the scholarship name to learn more about each scholarship and obtain an application for the scholarship(s) for which you want to apply. Applications must be submitted by March 31 and recipients will be notified in late April. See your high school guidance counselor for additional information, if needed.

The Alonzo P. & Beatrice W. Clarke Memorial Scholarship $1,000
Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence. This scholarship is intended for the quiet, unassuming student, who works hard, gets good grades, stays out of trouble, and needs help for college.
The "Children First" Special Education Scholarship $500
Restricted to graduating seniors planning to pursue certification as a Special Education teacher. Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence and be a well rounded student involved in school activities and community service. Elizabeth Forward Alumni and Friends Association Scholarship $1,000
Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence and participation in extra-curricular activities, especially community service.
Four Friends For Elementary Education Scholarship $1,000
Restricted to graduating seniors planning to major in elementary education. Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence and be a well rounded student involved in school activities and community service.
The Gracie M. Jones Memorial Scholarship $1,000
The award is for a senior or alumnus who is pursuing a career as a professional in a health care field, has a sustained record of academic excellence, and has demonstrated leadership and citizenship through volunteer service to others through scouts, church, community, school activities, etc.
The Ann V. Malady Scholarship $1,250
Applicants must be a graduating senior who has dealt successfully with a learning disability and is intent on furthering his or her education as a full-time student at a four-year college or university or vocational institution. Applicants should have an IEP or equivalent assessment and a record of participation in extra-curricular activities, leadership, volunteerism, and/or community service.
The Rendin Law Enforcement Scholarship $500
Applicants must be a graduating senior intent on furthering his or her education as a full-time student at a four-year college or university in pursuit of a career in law enforcement. Applicants must have a sustained or improved record of academic excellence.
The Soli Deo Gloria Scholarship (To God Alone Goes the Glory) $1,000
Applicants must be a graduating senior who has been accepted to study as a full-time student at a two- or four-year college. Applicants must exemplify strong moral character and devotion to God. Applicants should be honest, trustworthy, and have no history or reputation of drugs, alcohol use, smoking, or serious misbehavior in school or the local community.
The Jon & Sandy Shank Endowed Scholarship $1,000
Restricted to a senior or alumnus who has been accepted for full-time study at Robert Morris University. Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence and demonstrated leadership skills through extra-curricular and/or community service involvement.
The William E. & Louise Shank Memorial Scholarship $3,000
Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence, leadership, and citizenship.
The Peter F. Vaira Sr. & Mary Vaira Memorial Scholarship $1,000
Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence. This scholarship is intended for a first-generation college student--one whose parents did not earn a college degree.
The Marilyn House West Book Scholarship $250 to $500
This award is for females, primarily Afro-American females who are interested in pursuing careers in healthcare or business. Candidates should be ranked in the upper 10% of their class and be an active participant in extra-curricular activities. Economic status will not be a determining factor for selection. Monies shall be used towards the purchase of books.
